Dream Sixteen
I am at the front door of the mansion. I mean… It’s a really nice house anyway. Mansion might be stretching it. I kick the door in. I use a lot of force. I can hear the shower running upstairs, and I’m relieved… I hadn’t thought that it would make that much noise. I close the door as well as I can, but I can tell that an alarm has been triggered. Also, the person in the shower won’t be there forever. I walk into the house. The décor at the front is very clean. Smooth lines and round shapes predominate. I move along the left hand edge of the house and find the side door is open to allow the cats in and out. I’ll have to remember that for the next time I try robbing these people. This part of the house is much darker and more difficult to be in. That’s fine for me. I’m a robber, and I’m here to take something very special. Not jewels or anything. It’s a small red object about the size of a film canister, and it belongs to the daughter. This is probably my third attempt. I don’t remember the details of the other ones.
I proceed upstairs and move through the rooms rapidly. The shower turns off. I’m in the daughters room. I cannot find the object in the daughter’s room. I know it’s there somewhere… I’ve found it there before. But now I’m being pursued. I make it to the mother’s jewelry and take as much as I can. The father is just coming around the corner as I hang myself off the edge of the upper story where it overlooks the downstairs area. Only if he comes right over next to me and looks down will he see me. For some reason, I’m wearing a bulky blue coat. I can see his eyes. He will see me.
I make it out the front door with some sort of pursuit happening, and I get to the Volvo
